HUUUGE Update to Blender.org Gallery

final2.jpgAfter four (FOUR) months without updates, the Gallery on Blender.org has finally been updated. There were some really great submissions and it took quite some time for us to get through them all. A big thanks goes out to Daniel 'ZanQdo' Salazar for helping out with the updates.

Because there were several months worth of updates, the format of the gallery has been slightly modified. Instead of showing the work from just the most recent month (which would be unfair to people who submitted their work in earlier months), each month is represented by a single image which links to that month's full gallery.

So there you have it: 74 new images in the gallery and each one is a treat for the eyes. Go take a peak! Which one is your favorite?

There`s a "Homeworld 2" ingame screenshot in the august gallery- called "Space Scene". The gamedevelopers logo "r" for "relic entertainment" is also to see. fakeeeee… (i guess)

At last… Some amazing Blender-made stuff for all to see!

    Super Duper!!! That's Nice!

hmm as Simon pointed out…. the "space scene" image is flagrant screencap from the game homeworld 2..(bottom right, there is the Relic logo)

except if he modelled a spaceship and imported it into homeworld 2..which I doubt because those fighters that are in focus really looks like the ones from the original game…I checked the guy website..and there is nothing 3d related on it…hmm Is there a way to contact ZanQdo directly?

Hey guys, thanks for the heads up on the Homeworld screenshot. I had no idea about that and appreciate that you pointed that out (I suppose I should use this as an excuse play more video games ;). Also, it would appear that carbon's "Empty Room" was rendered in Indigo rather than Blender. I've made the relevant adjustments.

Thanks again for pointing out those errors. Hopefully there aren't [too m]any more in there.

I think the new format should include little thumnails

I have to ask – why are all the images so small? Even clicking on then brings up an image only 600 or so pixels wide. Where's the really big versions I can use as a wallpaper? Good work though!

    Hi artists, Hi Blender.org!
Isn't it possible to put the pictures in a higher resolution on the site?
Or are you all working with a 15"-Display??!

  14. 14 mike pan

finally! And Wow, andy is amazing as usual.

elite2864, i think this is because not many artist is willing to put up poster-size images in the public domain.

    @ claas kuhnen

I don't remember your work, can you send me your files to contact arroba zanqdo.com. There have being problems with the regular mail system in past months…

@mike pan: I thought Blender is a kind of free software!
I know many real professionals, who offer renderings in much higher resolution.
    Go f.e. to cgsociety.com!
I dont want to print the pics, but look at the fine details!

Is there a chance that if the gallery starts posting links to the larger versions of images that people post their work in widescreen resolution. My Acer 19" widescreen is at 1440 x 960 and if I want an image on my desktop I have to crop it and reset the resolution in GIMP. Not hard, but it usually degrades the image and removes part of the scene. I would like it if some of these beautiful images would be rendered to fit natively in that size.

    Any takers? Thanks.
