George Rig 1.0

george-rig-3JeriH has released his George Rig 1.0. and he's obviously put a lot of thought into this rigging, keeping the animator in mind all the time with simplified controls and a separate window for the entire IK/FK controllers with a nice GUI background. In addition he's completed a companion manual for it.

I have finally released George Rig 1.0.

george-rig-1

George Rig 1.0 is a cartoon character rig with all features that animator would
expect, including but not limited to:
- switchable FK & IK limbs;
- FK & IK torso;
- squash & stretch;
- advanced foot setup;
- detail facial rig;
- switchers GUI;
- etc.

The license to the rig – CC Attribution (see text window of blend file as well as final chapter in the Guide).

    Does the hair come with it? I think it looks a lot better with the hair like in the screne shots

    hehe I like the hair too :)

    The hair can be found in this thread:

    To add hair – I would go for 3 vertices parenting or just join hear mesh with the body and give hair 100 % weight of DEF_Head bone from DEF_Armature (you can access this armature from Outliner quite easy, it is hidden on layer 10).

    Tim: My aka is JiriH, thank you for correction in advance.

    Hey – nice work! It's refreshing to see the amount of customisation in this rig, and especially the thoughtful GUI. I think the foot controls could be improved (I like leg rigs to be able to pivot [x-rot] at both heel and toe ends, but with the toe-tip, or heel-tip being the pivot point) although, this does seem to offer a better spine rig than I have seen on many other characters. Thanks for this.
