I’m here to give some good news for all the blenderheads. Its about a Rig that was developed by our friend Mangojambo (Moraes Jr) It´s seems to be a quite useful tools for those who want to study animation with a good rig or just want to do some animation tests , the rig looks awesome, everything cleverly organized, you have IK/FK switch, and some simple (and really peculiar) expression control well needless to say I suggest you to download and test it.

Yop, it looks quite similar to the animationmentor rigs. And well, From my experience its a bad idea to make look-alikes! (read the BA-thread above).
outch: Catch it while it last, because, last time animationMentor got kind a sad.
But, well… I’ve modeled myself a character like this, a biped, etc. Just to for training,
really, animationMentor characters are really cool and inspiring.
Thinking about it, if its just for personal use, who cares ?!

Indeed, this does look like a very close copy of AM’s Stu. AM don’t tend to mind rigs that are similar to theirs, as long as there are some clear differences – I think this one will probably fall on the wrong side of the line. I wouldn’t expect this to remain available for long…
yeah AM fights for their individuality :) Downloading…..
Although I’m all for protecting your designs to avoid confusion I think how ’simpler’ the models get, bow more generic they get and might all start to look alike. So looking at it from that perspective it’s borderline inviting other people to make similar characters even if they never seen the originals :)
Well we now have quite some number of rigs of varying complex models and sometimes I wonder why one would use a ’stick model’ if there are models like Elephants Dream available. hmm, surely one could just render the bones or something :D
