Very beautiful, went to see the rest of the images on Oskar Alvarado’s deviant art site. Would still like to know more about them… like for example why use blender for this kind of imagery (any plans to animate these?). Inspiration, work process, etc. Reminds me of works I have seen on drawn.ca a site worth regular visits.
The reason to make this illustrations is very simple.
Just for do differnet things. Many people makes the same style of images and animations all the time. My personal vission is to make the oposite way. Blender is a great… VERY GREAT!!!! tool for that. I´m a teacher of animation in the UNIVA University in México and we “need” to teach TOONBOOM… Pfffffff…. we make the same work, with better look, and five times more fast in BLENDER… We use Blender like a 3D tool when is necesary and like a “cutout tool”, in this case (The case of the uper image).
Please, take a look to the STEAM TALES animated project and may be you understand a little more my idea about this:

Nice piece worth puttin in there for sure. Well done!

Beautiful image…
Was that the chat-up line she used on Doctor Who?
I could tell this guy was a cool artist just by his first name ;)
Truly beautiful. But why create it using Blender? Isn’t that kind of the long way around the barn?
