Durian Sprint

The Durian modeling sprint is going on NOW is over. To help the team by modeling required props, check out their instructions. You can also just watch Colin live in the studio. We just witnessed him eating fallafel – who knows what else he’ll do today? ;-)

Update: The live stream is down now – at times, more than 300 people were watching it and the IRC chat was scrolling so fast it was hard to follow. Good times – I can only hope we’ll see more of this!

Hi all,

Thanks for the effort by the community today, was really very cool to see it all unfold!

The ‘official’ part of the sprint is now basically over because the team aren’t in the IRC channel anymore. However, if people want to keep on their models and textures for a little while we’ll be keeping an eye on Blendswap over the next few days so keep sending things in!

Cheers on behalf of the whole Durian team!
Ben.

Question, will you guys use other models from Blendswap (if you need them) or only the ones that were created for Durian?

@Milad Thaha I believe Steve has been a good boy and has done his homework and studies. He is quoting from the famous Animator’s Survival Kit where the author advises animators to unplug themselves from their music players and concentrate fully on animating according to the author, who is a highly acclaimed animator, you do better work that way. I would love to see some of the stuff these guys modeled over the sprint.

I was half way through modeling a cauldron when I got a computer freeze. And being that that happened at 2am in the morning my time I bowed out. But I will send it through later.

Just wondering if there were any need for people to help decorate the landscape with the models produced. That in itself would remove a great deal of work for you guys… just and idea.

    Another round would be awesome.

Keep up the work guys and thanks for giving us the opportunity to be part of something like this.
