ScreenShot009Rajiv Mudgal makes Ads and Documentaries and  also made two animated serials as well as several short animated films. He recently did four ads for the India Post last year (which are being telecasted all over India right now.) These were done completely in Blender.  Apart from these, he has also done several promotional pieces in Blender (mainly Stills).

Some of his stills have been re-posted here.

From past two years we have slowly migrated our work base from closed to open source and have done it quite successfully.

This video repeats the 10 sec ad several times

    Ah First comment =D

    Nice video =)

  2. 2 tikomiko

Cool!!! Too many people and too many animation schools in India are still ‘autodesk-centric’. It’s good to see the change.

  3. 3 Reekdeb

I think this is the first commercial ad from my country made in Blender (though I don’t know exactly)… Very happy to hear this news… I didn’t know about that.

    @tikomiko is right….

To be exact all of them are AutoDesk centric….

    Good to see the change….

  5. 5 Karthik

Very nice to see to see the ad made in Blender. I’ll check out the telecast. Good work Rajiv.

I’m sorry Tim, I’d usually leave this alone, but you did it twice:
“Stills” plural doesn’t need an apostrophe.

    Gryphon. oops, didn””t see that.

I hope others are encouraged and start using Blender with more confidence.

We are also host India’s only and possibly Asia’s biggest Poetry film festival “Sadho Fest” (http://sadho.com) and hope that some among you can make it to Delhi. We will be showcasing among others, 50 best short poetic films made in 2009. To make things even more exciting Zebra (http://www.literaturwerkstatt.org/index.php?id=540&L=1) and Rattapallax will be holding workshops and a special commentary session
    .
But if you are outside Delhi and cannot make it don’t worry, we also hold “Sadho Yatra” a Travel Fest, so if you cannot come to us, we will come to you. :)

We have promised to give special consideration to films made on open-source platform using open-source application for editing, composting or animation (puppetry) etc. and because we are encouraging open-source, and even though submission dates are now closed, we can still screen your entries as late as last week of October. So if you have made a short animated poetic film, please send it thru and I will personally attend to it. (please address it to Rajiv Mudgal)

    Thanks and regards

    Rajiv Mudgal
