The Blender Foundation Certified Trainer (BFCT) Program has been officially launched. The 12-member review board for the program has put a lot of effort into getting it off the ground and we're ready to see how well it will work. If you teach or train people in Blender, get your application materials together, because we're accepting applications now!

We recently spotted a commercial on YouTube for ROC, an international producer of skin-care products. The commercial was created in Blender by Gecko Animation Limited and was aired on UK television. We contacted Jonathan Lax to learn about his studio and about how Blender fits into his workflow.

The Italian animation studio Liquid Gate has produced a short leader animation for a major Italian Newspaper. It was part of their assessment of Blender in a production environment and it looks like Blender passed the test!

Its been long since the first TOSMI session ended and we were so busy that we missed the final article. Now with the deadline for the second TOSMI session getting near we decided to show what happened at the end of the first session.

The second day of TOSMI ended and we are really happy about how things are evolving, not only are the trainees catching up but they are also enthusiastic about it, we can surely say they are more motivated then we anticipated.

German animation studio Die Versilberte Eitelkeit and Arroba Films S.A. de C.V. have recently finished their 8 minute short movie 'Cosmic Balance', based on Francisco Athié's short novel. Much of the work was done in Blender.

Robert Schober (roboshobo) has done another music video using Blender. Nearly a year ago, we wrote about the ”Dear Valentine” music video he did.
This time around it’s “Machines” by the band Kiss Kiss. The music video has a nice little hunter vs. prey themed story, and the very nice rock music goes along well with its stylistic look.

Thorsten Schlüter has prepared a number of images for a the CeBIT 2007 booth of a company named 'AVM'. CeBIT is one of the largest (if not THE largest) consumer electronics tradeshows in Europe, leading to a giant exposure.

You may remember ResPower from a previous Blendernation article on distributed rendering. Its a service utilized by quite a few Blender artists. One you may be familiar with is Sacha Goedegebure's Man in Man. Now its great to hear that they support version 2.43.

I have a bunch of Google Alerts that scan the web for Blender related stuff. Last week they informed me about pokedstudio, a British design studio. I really liked their work so I contacted Jon and asked him to tell us a bit about his work and how Blender fits in.

Edouard Tisserant contacted us about a commercial presentation that he made with Blender. The animation is simple but effective; it explains the technical concepts behind a Linux based backup and restore system.

The website 'PageBites' is an aggregator for other jobs sites. I ran across it a few months ago and added a feed for 'blender 3d' jobs to my RSS reader. Much to my surprise, there's actually quite a steady demand for Blender jobs!

Blender has long been a loose confederation of artists, programmers, and hobbyists. And with Blender becoming more and more powerful, people, schools, and studios are beginning to have the need and desire to use Blender in their organizations.
