The SIO2 3D Game engine for the iPhone and iPod touch is built around Blender. Using an export script, they claim WYSIWYG 3D application design for this platform. Check out the video inside for an impression of what’s possible on an iPhone/iPod touch. SIO2 is free, but for $99 you’ll receive technical support. We’ll be covering some of the games created using SIO2 in the near future.

Benoît Saint-Moulin is a teacher of interactive 3D technologies at the Belgian school Jacquard Infographie. He and a team of four students developed a game using a combination of tools including Blender, 3DS Max and the Gimp. They actually built an arcade machine around it with an innovative interface.
Recently entered into the Blender Game Contest was a beautifully made game entitled ‘Megagolf’ by Supersocks on BA. This is a true example of what can be achieved currently with the BGE, both with graphics and gameplay.
Endi has just informed us of a commercial game being made by him and the team he is currently working with. The game is called ‘Ignite’ and is a car racing game for the PC.
A few days late, but still worth mentioning. The winners for the Blender Game Engine Contest have been announced. We’ve published a couple of articles about this contest in the past, so congratulations to the winners!
Dalai Felinto has been working on a Game Dome project for the last several months.

This feature allows artists to visualize their interactive projects within an immersive dome environment. In order to make it an extensible tool, we are supporting Fulldome, Truncated domes (front and rear), Planetariums and domes with spherical mirrors.
