Fresh Blender News, Every Day
Walaber has published a freeware game called "Walaber's Trampoline". What makes it interesting (besides having a totally original and crazy concept), is that most of the modeling was done with Blender and that he used the Ogre3D game engine.
It looks like I was quite late with posting that voting for the Bullet Physics Contest had started. Only one day later Erwin already mails me with the results ;-) I can't say I'm surprised by the results, but congratulations to all the participants are in order - you created a great showcase for the Blender game engine and for the Bullet Physics Library!

I ran into Erwin Coumans at the Open Source Pavilion at Siggraph where he showed me the 15 entries that he has received for his Bullet Physics Contest. Erwin is the original developer of the Blender 2.0 game engine and he is now working for Sony where he is developing the Bullet Physics Library for the PlayStation 3. Sony has allowed him to open source part of that library and he has been busy implementing it in Blender.

The last time I've written this kind of article (preview of a really promising game under development) that didn't had an happy ending (too bad, it was a really good looking game); three months later time to write something about Club SILO (CS from now on) has come and hopefully, since the game is in an advanced phase of development, this time we'll see the finished product (I feel a little like Tutankamon, I've to admit it).
Look to your left! Look to your right! What do you see? The Elephants Dream flash game!
All those nice little (and sometimes unfinished) games made with Blender's game engine that can easily be found here and there in the community's forums are really a good way to start learning and to show off what Blender is capable of in the game-design panorama, but what about a real game, with professional looking graphics and a gameplay longer than 2/3 minutes?
o—-o wrote to us to mention his latest project, BFight. BFight is a free two person fighting game developed in Blender that uses the Blender Game Engine licensed under the GNU GPL license.
