A little while ago, I received a copy of Mobile 3D Graphics: Learning 3D Graphics with the Java™ Micro Edition from Thomson Course Technology, a publisher of a variety of technology and graphics-related books. Being eager to delve into the subject myself and knowing that there two chapters of the book devoted to the use of Blender for mobile 3D applications, I was very interested in seeing what the author, Claus Höfele, had to offer on the subject. As it turns out, the answer is "quite a bit."

Starting this summer another Blender book will be in progress by the talented Tony Mullen. And this one looks to be an exciting one. The one thing that really makes me smile about this book is that it will be in full color. And it will cover some of the deep mysteries involving simulations (hair, particles, etc.) in Blender.

Article submitted by Olm-z:
When Nintendo got out its latest machine, the Wii, some of us where to think that the real innovation was not in the console itself, but in the bew controllers (Wiimote and Nunchuk) that use a clever and ready to use set of accelerometers and for the Wiimote, a special pointing system with IR cam and leds ….
So lots of people started to hack and reverse engineer the controller way to communicate with the Wii and developing drivers for Win, Mac an Linux … (all things that are accessible here: http://www.wiili.org).

Its an incredible time to get into Blender, especially with all of the available learning resources. Lets look at one of these resources. A head modeling training DVD from Jonathan Williamson (aka:mr_bomb) that covers every aspect of modeling the female head. You may remember Jonathan's head and ear modeling videos well this is a leap above that and we'll take an insiders look at what can be found on this excellent resource.
When we first heard about this DVD we pinned Jonathan down to ask him a few questions under the spotlight.
