Okay. On a more serious note: Finland’s largest computer festival, Assembly 2010, is about to kick off in Helsinki, Finland, and the Renderfarm.fi crew have prepared a very tasty programme for you.

BarCamp is an international network of user-generated conferences (or unconferences). They are open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants. [quote from Wikipedia]. On Saturday, July 31st there’s a BarCamp in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Andres Nader will host a session on Blender.

The Blender Foundation will not have its own booth at SIGGRAPH this year. Instead, two ‘Birds of a Feather’ meetings will be held. During the ‘Blender Community Meeting’, Ton Roosendaal will discuss this year’s results and give a sneak preview of Sintel. At the ‘Durian & Blender Artist Showcase’ you’ll see more Sintel and community art work. For more info, visit Blender.org.

The German Blender Conference is getting close! It will take place on the 17th/18th of July. More than two dozen people allready signed up for it and you can be there as well!

For those of you who have complained in the past as to why I cover SIGGRAPH on this site, I give you the following papers trailer. As I’ve stated before, that in addition to the Blender conferences held there  SIGGRAPH also leads to new ideas for animation software including Blender.
