MakeHuman : New expression system – development and testing

Head over to the MakeHuman website, in case you would like to test out the new macro-expressions they are developing and testing right now for the next MakeHuman release. In addition they also updated their exporter so it can generate a MHX Rigify checked character which works seamlessly together with Nathan Vegdahl’s Rigify Add-On. Deformation has been improved by adding extra deformation bones. It is definitely not perfect, but the most awkward defects are gone.
Two handy scripts: Theme Manager and Loop Tools
Bartius Crouch has done it again with two neat little scripts. The first is a theme manager that enables importing and exporting of UI themes without having to change your default blend settings. The second is a loop tools script, with a whole bunch of features for bridging and lofting edgeloops, adding holes, and smoothing and refining edgeloop distribution. Kernon Dillon has put together a nice overview of the two scripts at BlenderNewbies, with videos and links to forum posts about the scripts.
Blenrig 4: Automatic Skinning and Rigging for Bipeds
Juan Pablo Bouza has updated his BlenRig rigging system for blender 2.57b. For those who haven’t seen previous versions, BlenRig is an automatic rigging system that uses an armature and a mesh deform cage to produce a ready to use rig with nice deformations and a wealth of animator friendly controls, as the following video demonstrates:
