A quick reminder for Blender artists who are interested in joining the Durian Open Movie team: the call for participation closes on June 10th.
If you can recall a previous article, the Blender Game Engine is currently undergoing huge developments led by Entertainment Arts Research. Here's a 'brief' update of some of the new things we're seeing appearing currently, plus a more recent demonstration video of Yo Frankie.
An international group of Blender Maya users are working on their own version of Big Buck Bunny. Their story:
The Story will be based of the BBB movie. The squirrel is possessive, and wants to get rid off all other animals from the forest by making traps to get rid of his first arch enemy, The Bird, who doesn’t care about what the squirrel think and get on with his daily life.

Ton just announced that the Apricot DVD Master is ready and should go to the printer today:
Just a short note! DVD is done, we’re still doing some tests, and we need Campbell for final blessings, but tomorrow it will be ready to go to the DVD reproduction factory!
Printing takes 2 weeks, shipping will happen during weekend of 1-2 november, customers will then get the copy within 1 (europe) or 2 (rest of world) weeks. Exciting!
Ton Roosendaal of the Blender Foundation has announced this year's Blender Conference schedule. An exciting mix from "Artificial Intelligence Nodes module inside Blender for expert modeling, texturing, animating and rendering" to Advanced Blender tips and tricks with Bassam Kurdali, Andy Goralczyk, and others. It looks to be an exciting event this year.
