Two great Durian updates just came in: they've received almost 150 submissions - 100 more than for Big Buck Bunny. I guess that participating in a Blender Open Project is gaining more and more attention in the CG world!

'Against Another' - Community movie project based on Big Buck Bunny

An international group of Blender Maya users are working on their own version of Big Buck Bunny. Their story:
The Story will be based of the BBB movie. The squirrel is possessive, and wants to get rid off all other animals from the forest by making traps to get rid of his first arch enemy, The Bird, who doesn’t care about what the squirrel think and get on with his daily life.

Yep, that's right. The shiny new Apricot DVDs are ready and are now at the Blender Institute, arriving today from the printing factory.

Elephants Dream: Alternate Soundtrack

Daniele Carli has taken his own approach to the open source project 'Elephants Dream', by redesigning the soundtrack/sfx and posting it on his site. Its a good demonstration of yet another interesting way to use an open source film like Elephants Dream.
According the the Yo Frankie site, the game will be delayed 1 week due to a serious bug in the game engine.
Ton just announced that the Apricot DVD Master is ready and should go to the printer today:
Just a short note! DVD is done, we’re still doing some tests, and we need Campbell for final blessings, but tomorrow it will be ready to go to the DVD reproduction factory!
Printing takes 2 weeks, shipping will happen during weekend of 1-2 november, customers will then get the copy within 1 (europe) or 2 (rest of world) weeks. Exciting!
2.48 Released!

Its release time for version 2.48! This is a game engine heavy edition, with a large amount of BGE updates and new tools. There's also plenty of non-game related updates and tools to keep everyone happy.
