Peach have just announced the premiere of Big Buck Bunny: Thursday the 10th of April in Studio/K in Amsterdam. It looks like it's gonna be a fantasic evening - not only will you get to see BBB on the big screen, there will also a party with DJ afterwards, all sponsored by Creative Commons Netherlands!
The evening (screening+party) is free to attend for everyone; if you want the VIP treatment (first screening, champagne, a meal and hugs from the entire team or, well, at least from Nathan) you can get a VIP ticket from the Blender e-shop for €30.
Other cool news is that with the help of Filmmore, BBB will be transfered to three copies of 35mm film including digital audio.
Read the full announcement on the Peach Blog.

Good luck, Gaurav - don't forget to send pictures!
Remember Adam Procter's short 'Doljer'? Director's Notes, a website on independent filmmaking, have posted a 35-minute interview with him.

Well well, 2008 is starting to look like the year that Blender Magazines started appearing everywhere around the world. After announcing the German Blenderzin only four days ago, the Italian community now also have their own magazine. The first issue (mirror 1, 2) is 55 pages long, contains tons of interesting material AND a picture of the illustrious Espresso-machine the Italian community sent to the Peach team :). Too bad I don't speak Italian!

Good news for the German Blender community - a new PDF Magazine has been released! The first issue is 15 pages long and my first impression is that it's a well produced piece of work. Check out their website, or download the first edition (1.8MB PDF).

(Submitted by Kisantal Tibor) Teenagers from a primary and a high school got together with two teachers in an animation camp in Hungary in last summer. Many of them have been dealing with 3D modelling and animation already. Until now they have been working together mainly for farewell movies for graduates wherein they created the special effects. In this camp they have decided to make an animation short about newt eggs with Blender.

Congratulations to the Arab Blender community for opening their new community home, ArabBlend.com [original, untranslated version]. It's a nicely designed site with lots of great content such as articles, tutorials and a gallery (which is a bit small at the moment, but there's some nice art there). Way to go, guys!
