Fresh Blender News, Every Day
Joost de Jonge is a Dutch freelance 3D animator. He was recently featured on BlenderNation with his music video 'Marsman en Kadee'. He's now selling his 2D rig with an easy to use templating system for drawing your character.
JeriH has released his George Rig 1.0. and he's obviously put a lot of thought into this rigging, keeping the animator in mind all the time with simplified controls and a separate window for the entire IK/FK controllers with a nice GUI background. In addition he's completed a companion manual for it.
Blender master Endi has published a real time animation of a horse statue with some amazing materials. Get it at BlenderArtists.

If you make an animated series about a bar you'll have to animate beer, I guess. The Kajimba team just released a beer rig (that's a first!), including a nice demo movie. Cheers!
They write:
We just finished a beer rig, plus a few cold ones for ourselves. Made it simple for the sake of the simple animators we have here. The shading of the beer itself is up for debate, seeing as half the studio like theirs blonde, and the other half dark.
To celebrate the release of Blender 2.46 and Big Buck Bunny (okay, and as an excuse to play around with Blender's cool new features!), I've ported Andrew Silke's well-known "Generi Rig" to Blender. Generi is a very popular Maya rig that's regularly entered into animation competitions such as 11 Second Club, and now Blender users have access to him too! :)
JiriH has created this nice squash and stretch ball rig to give beginners an introduction to rig animation. However, note that the rig only works for Blender 2.46 RC and hopefully the final 2.46 release as well.
