BSoD: Introduction To Physical Simulation

9

bsod-cube-fluid-impact-ray-render.jpgToday, We continue our look at the Blender Summer of Documentation with Felipe Bergamin Boralli's work on an Introduction to Physical Simulation.

Felipe covers basic math and physics first, then goes on to explain fluid simulation, softbodies, and particles in Blender. And if that wasn't enough, with the help of Erwin "Bullet" Coumans, a section of the documentation discusses rigid bodies. This is a great resource since it has not only how to use these features, but in most cases it describes every item in each panel. Nicely done Felipe!

By the way after skimting this bsod what i most like about it is defintley the soft body section, because it is difficult
and as far as i have seen on the blenderartists forums im not the only one

Me too. It's not only amazing that you can do these things AT ALL (thanks to the devs) but also with so much EASE and FUN !

For me this BSOD thing is really great, producing very high quality documentation and tutorials. Thanks for all the work.

  3. That's what i call a great paper, not just a stupid tutorial showing you how to click on a button without to know basic.
Obviously, it's a lot of work but so valuable :)

    Thank you for sharing

  4. Hi ppl

Thanks for all the comments on this article. The physics part, one of the greatest to me, often is not understood very well, because many think it´s very difficult, and don't even try to learn it. Good you are now learning it, because the results that come from it are very good, with small effort.

    Thanks
    Felipe Boralli

  5. Why does it say to use ZTransp. for Blender internal renders in fluid simulation? I know there used to be a bug in the rendering, but I thought that was fixed. At least, when I render a fluid in Blender internal, it doesn't give strange artifacts in the rayracing.

hey man - I really did a great job.. you know that I hate this subjects, but this way, they become clear, even to me , with a limited mind....

    well done
