Blenducation Series with 9 Hours of Jonathan Williamson!
Jonathan Williamson (Mr. Bomb/shadowdragon) of Montage Studio will be teaching about modeling a character in a series of 3 live classes, each 3 hours long, all at Blenducation. The first class starts Saturday, February 28, with an entry fee of $20 (U.S.) for the class.

Here is a quick breakdown of what the classes will cover:
Class 1 – Modeling a character
Class 2 – Modeling and some materials
Class 3 – Materials, textures, lighting, and perhaps setting up a simple scene.

I wonder because of this:
there are many Blender based tutorials out there.
But what will be if version 2.5 is ready?
Will everybody (and has everybody to) throw the old ones away?
If Ton and the others build Blender new with new Core and GUI the old tutorials will be for the trashcan!!
But this is supposed to be!!!!
cool 40 x 20 = 800 dollars in 3 hours thats not bad and extra revenue from the downloaded lessons. Way to go chapeau. (I know you are worth it ;)
I just left the first session. This was an amazingly good introduction to organic modeling. Williamson is an easy-going teacher and presents the subject well; allowing plenty of interaction with students while staying on topic and finishing on time. He not only covers important modeling fundamentals, but also provides helpful tips on reference materials, alternate techniques, and even career suggestions.
The only drawback was a bit of lag that made following the visual part of the tutorial difficult sometimes, but I have relatively low bandwidth, and the entire session was recorded and will be available for free download to registered students. Audio cut out once or twice, but that’s typical for these kinds of sessions, and nothing was missed anyway.
Part One was worth every penny and unless I get hit by a train or bus, I’m going back for Two and Three!
Bravo, Psion, thanks for the very good comment. :) I’m back from the class, too, where Jonathan kindly answered some questions I had about merging a hi-poly head to a low-poly body, importing a .blend into another .blend (appending/linking,) and how to make a pipe connect to a mesh (just delete two faces, take the middle two vertices, size them out some, which makes a hexagon, and use that for your pipe fitting – at least, that’s what I reasoned.)
