Well, this dvd will help you get up to speed with doing essential things in Blender, but there isn't any focus on character modeling and animation.

Cen you tell me if Blender is good to teach to pre teens and teens as a summer study. I have a digital arts school, and would like to offer summer digital camp.

Or let me know which are my options.

If I use bLender I would buy the dvd tutorials, which is the best way to start and the second to follow. and how many hours each dvd takes to program the camp

thank you
Barbara from Mexico

Hello, and thanks for your interest!

Concerning your questions:

1.) The DVD-ROM is playable only on your computer's dvd drive. It contains the video files and other resources. The interface for the resources is an HTML file that's viewable in any browser or, you can access the resources via your computer's file manager. All videos are in the MOV file format playable by both Quicktime and VLC.

2.) The resources on the dvd amount to almost 5GB of data so a download option isn't available.

To be successful with animation, you will have to have a very solid understanding of Blender in general. It's a very involved process to create really good animation and it takes time. You'll also need to study a lot of other things in addition to the mechanics of using the animation tool itself (in this case, Blender).

I would say that the most important things to study concerning animation have nothing to do with the animation tool at all. It's pretty easy to grab an armature and pose it. So, most of your studies on how to be a good animator will be outside of Blender. Things like anatomy, body mechanics, acting, traditional 2D animation techniques, etc. So, be sure to not focus solely on learning how to use Blender.

In all honesty, my dvd will not teach you how to be an animator. However, it does cover many aspects of Blender in a step-by-step fashion (including some basic animation techniques). I also try to put things into the context of HOW Blender's features can be used instead of just focusing on WHAT a feature does.

I think that developing a strong foundation of knowledge about Blender's core functionality is essential to going to the next level of learning to animate.

Happy Blendering!

The best tutorials so far ar brillsofts " flyingt trough the city. Explane every single step by step.

My gool, to make animated Cartoons, like "Out of the box.

I have made 50-60 animated cartoons, but I am not satesfied. I need to learn more abouth Action/ NLA editorings and walk cycles.

I am ready to pay for right stuff to learn more abouth animations, but I am little bit worry if it vill be to complicated.

I need your advice.
