Blender Conference Festival and Suzanne Awards

bart-l-kopie.jpgTon has announced the call for content for the Blender Art Festival on Blender.org. The Blender Art Festival is a regular part of the Blender Conference program: everyone is invited to submit their work, and prizes (a Suzanne Statue and €250, rougly $320) are available for the best artists in the categories Best Online Art Gallery, Best Character Animation and Best Animation, original idea or story. The voting will be done by the visitors of the Blender Conference.

Each year’s Art Festival, like the Siggraph DVD, is a showcase of the best Blender art that was produced during that year and I was happy to read that the full presentation will be available as a download from blender.org. In case you’re interested, the submissions of the winners of 2004 (nominees, winners) and 2005 are still available on the Blender.org website.

To submit your work simply add a link to it to this thread on BlenderArtists.org. The design of your webpage will not be a factor in the selection process; only the quality of your Blender work is important.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!).
