Ever do a final render and find that the gui hangs? Or maybe you want to shed a few seconds off of your render time. Simple you can render by using the command line. I recommend that you use the render line for the final render.

Useful stuff. I like command line automation, but the -p switch, which makes the application open at a specific place and size on the screen, doesn’t work across multiple monitors! Every time I open Blender I have to drag one side of it across onto my second monitor. This switch used to work perfectly across monitors in 2.4x, so I don’t understand why it’s been ‘broken’.
I noticed the same thing.
Is it because the blender.exe opens up a CMD window (which receives the -p argument), opens the Blender window (doesn’t receive any specification), then hides the CMD window?
I don’t think the command/console window is the problem. I have 2nd monitor (1280×1024) positioned on the left of the primary (1680×1050). The main Blender window accepts any coordinates for the left x, bottom y, e.g. -1280 0 (which makes it correctly start on the bottom left edge of the secondary monitor). But no matter what width coordinate is given next, it refuses to stretch across onto the primary monitor. The same happens if the secondary is positioned on the right of the primary. In 2.4x I could give a width of 2960 and it would obediently stretch across both monitors (1280+1680).
