HTML 3D Exporter script for Blender
There are a lot of ways to publish animations to the web, like YouTube. But now we have another option in Blender, there is a Script that can export a scene to HTML, and with animations. How? The scene is translated to javascript!
If you want to try it yourself, after placing the script file in the Blender scripts folder, a new file type will appear in the export menu, choose JavaScript(HTML…) to export your scene.
Funny but it’s a bit slow.
Wow, it works with little efforts!!!, still, a simplistic scene with a rotating Suzzane and a light hogs cpu power…but impressive…
I´m no html or java scripter, so is hard to know (for me) how can I control placement and join this HTML file to other web docs.
That kind of effective and clever use of Blender makes you wonder of what will be this program be in some time from now…and it just keeps me amazed every time and again…
Those who make this kind of stuff, receive my highest kudos…
I hate to be rude, but it’s too slow to be useful.
On the other hand, it’s an amazing script in terms of the way it works.
Interesting! I wonder why no one has ever thought about doing it this way! Damn cool idea!
It works! Very clever. Too slow for continuous animation on non-trivial models. Maybe interesting though for letting a user rotate (in discrete steps) a coarse model preview in a browser, spending their own processor cycles rather than the server’s.

Theres a lot of better scrips that does the same, with tectures and stuff, but cant remember the names.. :/ But thx for the link anyway.

The doom engine, despite its appearances, is actually not able to display true 3D, and because of this, the computation and rendering is a lot faster. It was originally designed to be run on very uncapable hardware compared to what we have today. A java port of this, therefore, is still pretty fast. But to give you an idea, you can run doom on an iPod even (which has about a 25mhz processor or something stupid like that). Take a look at: http://idoom.hyarion.com/ if you haven’t seen it already.

Hi guys, was thinking that this would be WAY too slow to release with blender in its current state, but we could have an exporter in blender that could output to multiple formats.
Maybe you could select java-applet or flash output (imaged based one has been done before so maybe add that in also).
This javascript could be an option with big red warnings about how slow it is.
When Firefox team will merge Adobe ActionScript JIT interpreter in the codebase Javascript will be much faster (only in Firefox, of course!), but the thing will require time (which means Firefox 5…. :/)

It is true that it is very slow, and not really usable as it is,but really impressive.
I have notice on my computer that the object is displayed flattened along Z axis…
