I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). bah .. been rendering with dual teslas for ‘ages’ now (on ec2). It does look quite a bit more exciting when you actually have a display hooked up to the machine though :D

I tried that Cycles cube torture test on my quad-core i5 (no GPU acceleration). It’s a bit slower, but not hugely so…
