A User Meeting Near You, Revisited

I’ve opened a page for the Blender community at Meetup.com that’ll help us plan and discover usermeetings. Here’s how it works:

  • You indicate you’re interested in meeting people in your town or area (enter your town name in the search box on the top-right if Meetup doesn’t get it right). You don’t have to actually plan a meetup to do so.
  • Others can join your group and suggest a location or a date for a meetup. Once you join a group you’ll receive updates by email so you’ll know what’s going on.
  • Once an actual meetup is planned, you can ‘RSVP’ for it so the organiser knows how many people to expect.

There are no rules for Blender usergroups – sometimes people just want to hang out, while other groups try to have a more formal programme in place with workshops and such. It’s all up to you!

This information now has a fixed place on BlenderNation (see the Community > Usermeetings near YOU page), and I’ll add a widget to the homepage once things start moving.

Enjoy!!
