Oscar follows the model of Elephants Dream: he hopes to finance the production of the movie with the pre-orders of the DVD which, like Elephants Dream, will contain all the production files under a Creative Commons license. Also, the names of the people who pre-order the DVD will appear in the credits. You can also donate to the project directly through PayPal.

The official release date will be March 2008, and the DVD will contain all the material generated trough the production. Besides the short film, All the material will be under some of the Creative Commons Attribution licenses.

We wrote about Oscar’s ‘Chibi World’ before. He has a distinct graphical style (which I really like) and his productions are very professional. All in all, I have high hopes of this project – I just hope that replicating the Elephants Dream model will work as well for him as for the Orange project and that such an endeavour is achievable by one person only.

Oscar writes:

I’m in the animation since 1998, first in the 2D area with my own animation studio called in that time IMAGINARIA. My first short was called SONAMBULO (sleepwalker), based in the CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI from 1919. In this production, all the animation was made in a classic 2D and a little of CG backs and FX.The second animation project was a short called BERENICE, based in a tale of Edgar Allan Poe. This short was entirely 3D and was winner in a short festival in Guadalajara, México. (My city)The third of my projects was ROBOTO, four shorts that tell the story of 4 different robots in the same apocalyptic world. This shorts was presented in the BLENDER CONFERENCE 2004 in Amsterdam. We make a DVD with the 4 shorts for sale here in México, but the animation industry in my country is a little baby. From 2005 at 2006 I was the director of animation and concept in the first mexican animated serie called CHIDOTLAN for Cartoon Network Latin. The project was a lot of problems. My team and I, finish all our work, but the distribution area makes the things wrong and the project now is in standby. In the last months of 2005, I start the production (independent again) of A FEW NINJA STORIES. A 7 chapters miniserie based in the adventures of a ninja school and his students down the name of OM ANIMATION STUDIO. This material was presented in the BLENDER CONFERENCES 2006.And the last of my independent projects MURNAU THE VAMPIRE( Under OM ANIMATION STUDIO too). I want with MURNAU, make an independent way to distribute the independent animation work. Little money and little crew. MURNAU is my first serious massive project (I hope not the last). In other areas, I’m illustrator since 1990 in technics like the watercolour, inks, oils, acrilics and of course, the digital media like the 3D and the 2D paint. In 1998 I made a comic book called PENUMBRA, in 2000 the comicbook EL SANDRO and now I work like freelance for 3DTotal in their TotalTextures CDs updates. In this year, I hope travel to Amsterdam at the BLENDER CONFERENCES 2007 for show MURNAU THE VAMPIRE.I love the 3D, I love the animation, I love the art…..God… I love my work!!
