Hey all: I just followed the link to the definition of splash screen (I was really bored at work) and they have link to a GUIdebook of splash screens. Under 3D software they only have Max and Maya (and max has probably the most boring splashes around.) We should upload Blender's They are way better than most of the stuff on the site.

Is there a way to put your own splash screen in without compiling it? just make it an jpg in the blender folder for example.

Maybe next time, someone will let us know a bit earlier? ;-)

If you want fair competition that would be cool.

i know i know. whole release caught me off guard totally. i just suddenly noticed release candidate is already out.. haven't been following the dev chats recently :(

about the "fightclub"-line, it's funny isn't it.. always the same thing, people don't get it. but, it only makes it better .. atleast i think so. heh heh.. :)

To answer Jogai's voting, i would love to see that mechanical frog from @ndy : "suddenly it's spring again"

I would like to mention how nice this idea is to have the community design the splashscreens!
