NuStandard is the result of the most recent London 48hr film challenge and it's full of Blender VFX!

For sci-fi lovers, the London 48hr film challenge is a treasure chest ideas springing out of a few simple principles.

They give you a name of a film, a line of text to speak, a prop and how to use it.... then 48 hours to finish the job! That's right, from scratch... script, set design, costume, music, sound effects, filming, editing, post grades and ahem.... special effects...

Well a crew of makers/movers/shakers and various other... ers from various parts of TV, theatre, film and music came together in a once secret underground bunker, deep in the wet part of Scotland.... to meet that challenge...

I have been privileged to share food, toilet paper and ground coffee in an ingeniously made camping cafetiere (i must get me one of those for long journeys...) with these geeky freaks willing to put up with freezing cold isolation, wet feet and me in order to put on a show.

Is this enough ado?

Ok well, why is it relevant to the Blender community? Guess who did the special FX? Imagine a picture of me holding up two thumbs...

Why do I get the gig? because what blender can do in 5 minutes can amaze people. What you can pull off in 48 hrs with multiple cut scenes, last minute changes and disperate bits of film coming from all angles needing virtual props and special lighting conditions, not to mention last minute changes and panic?

Well, it turns out... something like this....
