Antonio Vazquez's (antonioya) Grease Pencil patch is becoming increasingly awesome. Last December he previewed his 2D animation tools, and now he's patching up the drawing quality. Everyone's still waiting for a first release, the tension is increasing :)
I'm working in a patch to fix the top rated request by 2D animators: Improve quality of strokes. No more jagged strokes.
This is the current state of the patch. All drawings by Baniel M. Lara (@_pepeland_)

Is the quality done by internally using vector description or other methods?
(vector images, unlike bitmaps can have both high quality/scalability and low memory requirements)

The code uses the same routine that current smooth GP brush.
This is .. .. aaah . What was that .. can you just release it please .. now its too much anticipation .. i cant handle it more haha .
It would be great to share with the community the patch
I will submit this patch to be include in trunk (if they approve it) as soon as 2.77 get official release.
To clarify the topic:
I have been working with Daniel (@_pepeland_) in two areas:
1) Creation of an add-on with symbols, interpolate, animation, tools etc. that you have seen in Daniel's videos.
2) Improve the stroke quality for 2D artis, because this is the first request of any artist to use Blender as professional 2D animation tool. This is C code (not python add-on).
The add-on is still WIP. I'm working in the user guide, video tutorials and fixing small bugs and adding more things. It's a team work with Daniel to create a real production ready tool.
I'm waiting for the official release of 2.77 to submit the patch for reviewing. If they approve the patch, this code will be added to trunk and will be part of Blender itself.
This is – very very cool.
Best wishes for success!
Update: Grease pencil Stroke quality patch Accepted. Now it's in trunk.
Thanks!
