More Lego Fluid Simulations

6

I featured Ray Mairlot's Lego Fluid Effect about a year ago and thought it was a very cool technique. Canadian developer Ryan Guy took a slightly different approach: instead of using the Blender Fluid simulator, he created his own fluid simulator (available for download) and rendered the result in Blender. I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Looks awesome, though I just tried running the makefile - wish there were instructions on how to setup the environment/libraries, it appears the developer has installed some libraries which are necessary to compile this:

    PTHREADINCLUDE=-IC:/cygwin64/usr/i686-pc-mingw32/sys-root/mingw/include=C:/cygwin64/usr/i686-pc-mingw32/sys-root/mingw/lib/libpthread.a
