  1. Wow, this new (old) Waveform Display is much clearer and finally you can use Mono Sound Strips - really great improvements that aren't even mentioned in the Release Notes page yet! Doing such small Movie Projects is a wonderful booster for extremely useful Details. And this new Lama Movie... :-D Wonderful. Exactly right choice for the next Splash Screen.

Also the Speedup for Gaussian Blur in the VSE is a huge improvement... And not to forget this great new Progress Bar with a Percentage value. I was really waiting for this and finally it's there. Thank the Developers so much. And whew, finally Clipboard Integration for Text Objects and some more Features for the Text Effect Strip as well... How useful is this?

    • I really like the new progress bar. It appears not only when rendering but when Baking Physics and making video Proxys too. In that case you can see the time remaining if you hover the mouse over the bar.

However, there's something that it's missing: the last render time when rendering. It's gone or is in another place?

      • Not sure what you are missing. My older Blender versions showed the last render time only while rendering the new image. After it has finished, the last render time is gone and only the new time is displayed. Except when you use different slots, then each slot will keep its time until you render again in this slot. And the new Blender build still does the same thing, so I don't think anything has changed.

        • Yeah, it's a mistake. At some point, I couldn't see the last render time when rendering an animation. I've just tested that and it works so maybe I'm just crazy or the display were collapsed somehow.

  2. Smoke/Fire support on GPU... finally! I'm so glad to see this. Just made a very very quick smoke setup... I rendered it at only 100 samples. Compare the results:

CPU (AMD Octacore) - 1:20.49 minutes
    GPU (GTX 660) - 5.75 seconds!!!

That's so amazing... Thank you, developers!

    • That's fine. They probably don't immediately change the Version Number. It's 2.76.11 for me on Windows. But it already incluedes all the 2.77 features. It's no Release Candidate yet, it is to be testing the new features and mainly report Bugs. So if you want your Version No° to be updated, just wait for the official Release which shouldn't take too long anymore...

  3. This Build came in the right time as I'm working now with smoke simulation. I was working yesterday the whole day without bugs at all :)
