Kent Trammell presents his latest course on CG Cookie.
Sometimes a character concept is so appealing that the best way to do it justice in 3D is to "xerox it", or match it 100%. This approach can be tricky in that symmetry will most likely have to be abandoned. Also there's a balancing act necessary for matching the model perfectly to the artwork's camera angle while simultaneously figuring out how to make it look good from all other angles. But the reward of realizing a 2D design authentically in 3D is worth the effort!
