WIP - Grease pencil symbols UPDATE

14

Antonio Vazquez's add-on to Grease Pencil keeps getting better and better. Check out my previous post about it for an overview. This week, he has added reusable 'symbols'.

A new update of my WIP grease pencil add-on. Now I can create symbols libraries, as other 2d animation tools. The symbol is created using any drawing and the add-on creates the thumbnail.

You can create as many libraries as you need.

    • No offense, but as great as this development is, how exactly is this feature (or any other feature in Blender) threatening the likes of Maya and modo? And haven't Blender fans been saying this for about a decade now?

Truth is, there will always be options in the world of software. Even if one just becomes industry preference. There's room for other software to coexist in this world. No two options do everything the same.

Because truth is, no matter how much we may appreciate using Blender, there's always those who won't. And that's okay--preferences are relative. Generally, options are good. They keep you competitive, keep you growing, and keep the world thriving.

    • Without those greedy non open source 3D softwares, Blender would have nothing to copy from.

Remember, Blender used to be a greedy non open source software. It wouldn't exist without greed.

  1. If only this could be done with models. store and make a library of models where you can drag and drop them. An asset system. There goes another add-on idea. May do this myself actually..

    • I'm trying to find that out too -- glad to know I'm not the only one unable to find an ACTUAL LINK to DOWNLOAD it --Can someone please post a LINK!???
