It's been a long time since I last ran a weekend challenge here. The main reason for stopping was that I ditched Disqus, and Disqus made uploading images to comments really easy. Last week I realised though that I could do the same with the BlenderNation forum (yeah, I have one although it's not heavily used ;-). So let's go!
Here in the Netherlands, all the kids are eagerly awaiting the arrival of 'Sinterklaas', the Dutch version of Santaclaus. He will arrive from spain by steamboat this weekend, and so 'Steam' will be our topic. Any kind of steam will do!
If you're new to the Blender smoke simulator, then these tutorials will get you started:
- Creating volumetric clouds with smoke sim
- Rendering Smoke and Fire in Cycles
- Faking smoke with particles in Cycles
- Rendering smoke in openGL
Rules:
- Post your work on the dedicated forum thread.
- Post only new work, not existing.
- Vote for your winner by Monday - use the 'like' function (the heart icon).
- Be sure you’re logged in to Disqus when voting, anonymous votes will be discarded!
- The winner will get a post next week, and will get to pick next weekend’s contest theme.
Have fun! :)
