The Blender Institute presents: Glass Half

10

Blender Institute proudly presents the premiere of Glass Half!

Two amateur art critics meet in a gallery and argue passionately about the pieces they see, until finally they find a piece on which they can agree...

All of the visuals of the film have been realized using free/open source software, the film itself and all the assets that make up for the film are being released open and free as Creative Commons CC-BY.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. This was hilarious! This reminded me of the comedy style of Big Buck Bunny. Very simple, but gives you some nice little surprises. Maybe put some of this into Cosmos Laundromat.

  2. Not to diminish from any of the other BI's flicks, but for me, this one takes the cake by far and away. Whimsical, wonderful art style, interesting story, great ending, magnific!

  3. Just a little question : what language they use in the conversation? Are they speaking in minion like language?

Whatever, its great animation! I could understand the story even without understand what their language!
