Creating image transitions without using the sequence editor

4

While this is not the easiest way to achieve such effects, you don't always need the sequence editor for video effects. Dimitris Christou created transitions by hand.

Hello!

Easy image transitions in Blender without using the editor.

See my website for more video tutorials.

The graphicsdaily blog also moves on, close to 150 images now! Blender, Mandelbulb, Apophysis and Gimp used.

Thanks!

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

    • The build modifier needs geometry with some faces to build it over time while the plane only has one. The subdivision surface modifier adds those faces while the simple option keeps the original frame and shape of the image. You can increase the Subdivision surface modifier to easily get more 'tiles'.
