[non-Blender] Sketchfab contest: win a Substance Painter license

2

Substance Painter is a very cool texture painter that allows you to add very realistic materials, and includes full support for PBR (Physically Based Rendering). I've worked with the Allegorithmic team to launch a contest at Sketchfab where you can win a full license. The entire contest is based on a Blender model by Dennis Haupt. To get a sense of what Substance Painter can do, browse their tag gallery on Sketchfab.

From the announcement:

Are you looking to learn how to create incredible textures for your models?

We’ve teamed up with Allegorithmic to teach you how to work with Substance Painter, and use their new exporter to send your PBR models directly to your Sketchfab profile. Allegorithmic has added five full licences to the pot and we contribute Sketchfab PRO subscriptions and Sketchfab goodies, so it will be well worth your time!

As an added bonus, everyone who uses Painter’s new Sketchfab exporter will automatically receive a free 90-day Sketchfab PRO subscription.

To level the playing field a bit, we’re providing a Futuristic Car model that you need to use. It was generously provided by Sketchfab member Dennis Haupt. You’ll be working off an untextured version of his car - check out his original model if you want a little inspiration :)

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
