Danit writes:
This year, I decided to work with 3D printing, which I barely knew anything about. I wanted to check if it'd be possible to create an entire garment using technology accessible to anyone.
So I embarked on my 3D printing journey, without really knowing what the end result would be.
My inspiration was Eugène Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People. I modified it so it would look like a 3D picture. I was inspired to work with the many triangle present in the painting's composition.
The first piece I focused on was the "LIBERTE" jacket. I modeled the jacket using a software called Blender and produced 3D files; I could now start to experiment with different materials and printers.

Cool looking proof of concepts, they got a unique springiness to them.
To have something like that break into the mainstream/mass-market though, I imagine you'd have to use something more reliable and durable than Makerbot printing and show designs that prove you can also make these prints less porous and less rigid.
I'd like to read more about the technical part.
I was even more happy to see some thanks to those who helped
Yaniv You're a genius!
It strange? It very strange. It unusable for life, it cold and hard, I guess.
It only for fashion.
This has been done before, but the development in materials, 3D printing and other solutions will definitely make local production a viable alternative to third-world sweatshops in about 15 years...
I'm actually not sure about it's something useful for somebody.
People of 'third world' have ecological woolen, cotton, linen cloth and they don't need to have your plastic blouses.
amazing proof of concept! I really would like to see more like this soon!
Amazing proof of concepts!!!!
Lots of triangles! Hope it deforms well. ;)

it's more easy to weld the pipes of the whole model with Meshmixer remeshing than Blender boolean / BoolTool ...
