in this video tutorial I am going to show you how to make an old gold material in Blender Cycles 2.74! Now an old gold material would be very useful in a lot of cases such as making an old house or anything similar to this. But it doesn't stop there. The old gold material that you will learn how to make in this video tutorial is also very easy to customize and if you use a different image texture it should look awesome. I hope that you will all enjoy the tutorial and that you all learn something new or at least had fun watching me trying to explain things to you.

Shortly: gold doesn't rust, and doesn't look "aged" only if older that human civilization, starting with Lucy.
Looks more like a sandstone. Gold does tarnish and lose it's shine. Also there is dirt in crevices that is called antiquing. Antiquing is more blackish.
While gold doesn't rust egg tempera or hunne or varnish can change they are often used as binding glue on the backside but in some cases are used as a top layer.. I've been in restoration work. Gold is in various qualities. Can be mixed with copper that oxidises little
Thaks for very nice and useful tutorial. Creating nice material in Blender is still chalange;).
