Blender Mario Game Demo in Unreal Game Engine

3

Aryoksini has been building a fan-art version of Mario 64 in the Blender Game Engine for some time now. His latest experiment: carrying his assets into the Unreal game engine. Mario has never looked this good!

Aryoksini writes:

Here is Mario running in Unreal Engine 4, all the environment assets were taken from the Unreal marketplace, all the character actions were scripted using blueprints only, all animations were re-created from scratch as well as the PBR ready textures.

Special thanks to the following musicians for the amazing job:

  1. Very impressive. I think I like the pbr but Mario would need new textures and shaders. You could even go the Halo Anniversary route and make a toggle between classic and pbr. You could probably even get away with just changing shaders and textures, and maybe direct replacement of trees/shrubs with higher/lower quality. The base meshes of things should be able to stay the same.
