Blender Market: Minecraft item creator

3

Are you making Minecraft fan videos? Then this add-on by Nils Söderman will be useful.

My name is Nils Söderman also known as “rymdnisse”, I’ve been creating Minecraft animations over the past 4 years and as most of you probably can relate to, creating items is both hard and especially time consuming.
I always wondered if there was an easier way to create an item and then I recently realized I could write this in Python as a Blender add-on.

So here I now present to you an easy way to create Minecraft items! With just a few clicks you can create an item since all the hard work has already been done while coding the add-on.

Minecraft item creator sells for $3.99 on the Blender Market.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. The way I used to do this is just to create a grid of 16*16 small cubes joined together to one object, Unwrap view from the top and scale in the individual UV shells and add a transparent shader to it with the desired object set mipmapping and interpolation off. then you can just change out the texture whenever you need a new item without modeling each one individually. never have to model an item again if you dont mind the few extra polygons
