Cosmos Laundromat Trailer

6

The Gooseberry team has released their pilot! What do you think?

Ton Roosendaal writes:

We proudly present the trailer of “Cosmos Laundromat, Pilot”! And man that was tough, but we managed to get all the details work together in single renders! No comp! Hair sim, grass with wind, volumetrics, all rendered in Cycles.

Work on this 10 minute film will continue in June, rendering during July, with an official premiere targeted on August.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Looks great! I guess there was a part of me that wasn't 100% sold on the stuff I'd seen up to this point - I don't even know why really. I like the art style and the AMAZING hair on the sheep etc. Maybe not really knowing what the story was… but for some reason this very short tease totally sold me on it! Really intriguing and why is it called Cosmos Laundromat??… Can't wait!

  2. Very good sensitive acting, beautiful moving hair and grass, an extremely realistic skin texture (great SSS!), good sound, nice action, ... a very short but intruiging teaser!
    Promising ... A great job!

  3. "Impressive" - that's the word, that comes into my mind when seeing this. I'd rather call it a Teaser than a Trailer, But the simulation and all that detail... just great.
If you'd have shown this in the crowdfunding campaign it might have gotten much more funding ;-)
