Sketchfab releases Physically Based Rendering

0

You can now use Physically Based Rendering for your Sketchfab models. As the name says, it's based on a more accurate description of the interaction of light and matter. This results in a more reliable rendering in different environments and generally gives much more realistic results.

Here are some of the first results that are done in Blender (sometimes in combination with other tools for texturing).

You'll find more excellent examples on the Sketchfab PBR page.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
