Blender, Krita and Natron to be used at Paris-8 University

While dropping photoshop in favour of krita has got most of the limelight, the paris-8 university has also made blender and natron an integrated part of the schools curriculum which has started quite a storm of responses online. David Revoy who you may know from Chaos & Evolution or Blend & Paint in the blender training series, has helped the school transition to open software. Libre Graphics World interviewed François Grassard about this decision.

Some quotes:"This means that we are the first school in the RECA to integrate open source software. But if this experience is a success, a lot of other schools could follow the same path."

"But since a few years, most of our students arrive to ATI with some preliminary 3D knowledge on Blender. And for a lot of them, they already have pretty good skills. And that's a really interesting point! Because even if all instructors at ATI really love Blender, the choice of this software came naturally from our students!"
