I had been wanting to do close up backlit leaves for a while now. Cleaning some photos I found some Oak leaves that I had shot photos of this past summer that were perfect for such a project. Luckily it was a mostly overcast day and I shot them on a concrete back ground so they made for a good starting texture.Everything done with Cycles including coloring and compositing. I think it's 150 samples, 3000x2400 took 1:40 or so I think with the CPU (don't have a GPU yet)...

Looks good to me! I really need to start experimenting with making textures out of images I take. Know any good tutorials on that sort of thing?
