The mystery 'guest' user who won the previous weekend contest turned out to be felo. He picked 'Sports' as the topic for this weekend.
He writes:
Whats your favorite sport? What you like to watch? tell us why you like it soo much?
...hate sports... shows us why?

Soccer in the Rain
Ice skating, one of the few sports I enjoy ^^
"American Football Simulation."
I decided that this weekend, I was going to use wireframes in cycles somehow. I happened to have just tried out one of the Madden NFL games, and watched some sci-fi, so I thought "Hey.... This would be cool!"
Enjoy! Comments and critiques appreciated!
Okay.... Didn't upload the first time.... Here it is!
Whoops, uploaded the wrong version! Sorry guys!
My contribution to this weekly contest:

Very neat!!! I'm wondering how you pulled off that compositing work with the grass overlaying the buttons, plus the soccer ball. Admittedly, I don't really understand the meaning of the buttons, but it's still a very neat concept with very nice work!
There is a tutorial on cg cookie for doing a falling button animation and they show one way. I just textured the buttons with a soccer image using project from view while I was in camera view.
I put on buttons just to make it different. I could of just you used the soccer ball.

Yeah, really sorry about the spamming. I'm sort of new on this site and I had no idea it would post all those. I thought I had deleted the other ones.

Hello everyone, here's my entry. It's called: "Moment of Truth!"
This weekend I had lots of time to work on this image. So I could spend more time than usual to adding details, which I really enjoyed :)
...Wow... That's all I can say.
Thanks! :D
Your detailing is phenomenal. The small imperfections in the (synthetic) leather texturing is amazing. Lighting and materials are spot on. Great job!
Thanks for the nice comments! And well, it surely helped that I had an entire weekend off to work on some of those details :)
very nice composition good job:)
An last minut contribution. It's long debated whether Chess is a sport or not. I named this Racing Chess. Rendered with Cycles on Render Street. Good luck everyone!
