I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

    • It was just so much faster since I know that software inside out from years of use. I'm learning more and more about Blender though so soon I'll be probably be comfortable enough to do everything in it (although I doubt I'll ever know it inside out with all the features it has).

Also, thanks Blendernation for featuring my work!

      • I'm familiar with your Anime Studio Scripts site (for which, many thanks). I love blender but I also really like Anime Studio. It makes me wish that there was some kind of add on that integrated vector art drawing tools into blender for 2D animation, or a separate open source 2D animation software of the same amazing quality as blender (well, I can dream, can't I?).

        • That's my dream as well. I've played around a little bit with 2D shapes in Blender but it's just not as smooth of a workflow as in AS.
AS is great but there's just so many powerful features in Blender that I miss now when going back to it.
Synfig is open source and seems to have some nice features but I just can't seem to get into it.
