In-depth arch-viz tutorial: House Breukelen

4

Chocofus is publishing a series of in-depth tutorials, focusing on all aspects of developing an interior vizualisation.

In this tutorial we'll be modeling our scene basing on the photography found in the Internet. A good way to look for inspiration is to browse architecture based websites or blogs. There you can find hundreds of interesting projects and very often, authors publish both interior pictures and the floor plans. The project I've chosen to re-create in 3D is called "House Breukelen" and was designed by Zecc and BYTR Architects.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Just a small correction: the entire tutorial has 10 parts from which 5 were already released. Part 6 is focused on creating realistic shaders with Blender and Cycles and since it's a bit longer, consists of over 100 pictures and covers many interesting issues, I've decided to release it separately. I really hope you'll like it and that it helps you understanding logic behind Cycles shading system.

    Cheers!
