Gottfried Hofmann writes:

"[...] we would also love to see Blender pick it up. Those are the main two third party projects where we would like to see adoption of OpenVDB."

OpenVDB is a great format for storing and processing volume data. It might even get incorporated into Blender at some point. But what can you excpect from it? Ken Museth from DreamWorks Animation sheds some light on that subject.

  1. I hope that the devs get this integrated, I'm just a young little dev that doesn't know much, so I'm sadly of no help to anyone right now. But if they integrate it, it'll probably be a great leap for Blender.

  2. interesting article, dosent sound like it would be adopted in blender anytime soon, but i know nothing about coding. sooooo, veeery interesting.
