David McDermott presents a pilot for a television program for kids, with a very distinctive 2D/cardboard style.
I wanted to share the last project I worked on, a children's t.v. pilot/teaser. The client created a storyboard and concept art for all the characters, my challenge was to translate their lovely natural media 2D artwork into 3D models.
I did all the modeling, animation, rendering and compositing in Blender. It is my first major project to be 100% blender. I really enjoyed working on the project.
I hope you like it.

Nice animation, David. Fits in well with the caliber of other children's animation productions. Nice to see you handled all the work here, where similar styles of work are typically done by teams of several people. Hey, any relation to Wes McDermott?
Thanks Brian,
no relation to Wes. But nice to know other McDermotts are working in the field. :)
Thanks for posting!
Very nicely done. I like the way the classy animation comes through the cardboard cutout look.
That's really lovely.
Very well done. I love it!
This video is awesome! It looks just as good as anything made with "professional" software. Blender is awesome.
Wonderful, beautiful work. :-)
