What do Gooseberry team members do in their downtime? Well, they create fun animations, of course!
In 2009 we asked the 'godfather of Dutch comics' Martin Lodewijk to help us as a writer for for the Durian project. He wrote several stories for us and came up with the name Sintel. The stories were great but beyond the capacities of our small team. In good understanding we went our own ways and made Sintel as we all know it - a memorable but quite different short film.
While concepts and scripts for project Gooseberry were in development, we had some time left for a fun side project. We decided to check on Martin's most famous cartoon character - the Dutch secret Agent 327. How would it work to turn a typical 2d cartoon into 3d? A huge challenge indeed. But the team managed quite decently!
So - as a hommage to Martin Lodewijk - here it is. A fun surprise!

Any chance of this getting posted on the Blender Cloud? would love to see the .Blend!
This is great! Although the comics are on a much higher scale on the age level...
That move as he goes underneath the window = awesome.
He looks a little bit like George W. Bush :-D
IMHO he looks like Snooker legend Ronnie O'Sullivan
Exactly like Rowan Atkinson as Mr Bean...
That's funny, I saw him as a blend of George W Bush and Rowan Atkinson.
Perfect
I'd love to see more. It has a nice claymation feel to it.
This? A little doodle in their downtime? Well dang, I wonder what Gooseberry has in store for us.
Well now that is seriously great character animation. Quite Maxwell Smart I was thinking. Gr8 physical humour throughout.
