BlenderMonth continues with another quick tip: border rendering.
BlenderMonth writes:
Today I’m going to show a qucik tip to speed up realtime rendering preview in the blender viewport by using the “Border Render” option.
This option is well known for many Blender users when it comes to speed up the final rendering. It is quite easy to set-up : first, go a camera view in the view port, then type in the shortcut Shift + B and draw a red box in the camera view. This box will define the rendered area, leaving the other part of the render completely black. It is particularly useful when we are working a small part of the final render and don’t want the lose some time rendering the whole thing.
This border option works very well, not only when we launch the render with F12, but also in rendered mode of the viewport.

i wish they'd bring back the shift + p from the days of yore. That thing even composited in a little preview in the 2.49 days. I love the border and even moreso the crop option in the render panel below the resolution for when said b is hit.
I've proposed before but gonna try and script it myself instead, when drawing a border, it should go into render view mode. Speed things up a bit.
